The mid year school holidays sudah pun berakhir, so I had to resume my one of many official duties of being a "professional homemaker", i.e; being my son's personal driver. I'm not complaining but maklumlah, bila dah holiday 1 bulan, bangun pagi pun around 6.30am untuk kejar waktu Subuh, to have to wake up early again, (around 5.30am), can be quite a challenge. hehe..
I'm up by 5.30am on school days because I'm the type who likes to shower immediately upon waking up so I'm all fresh and ready to face the world. I have a new helper now so I don't immediately have to rush to the kitchen to prepare Shafiq's breakfast and pack his school snacks. At least now I get to spend a longer time in the bathroom. (more time to memikirkan masalah dunia. haha)
We got back to Singapore last Sunday afternoon. Since Mr Z has been alternating between Singapore and KL office these past few months, both Shafiq and I took the opportunity to follow him to KL. The first week of school holidays, Mr Z had to be in Singapore, so we didn't go anywhere. Just took Shafiq and his friends out to the cinema to catch MIB3. I also took the opportunity to hold a brunch get together with a few close friends and their kids (who are also Shafiq's friends as they go to the same school). So the mommies had the chance to lepak, borak-borak while the kids spent time at the pool.
The second week of the school holidays, we went back to KL coz Mr Z had to be in KL office and we stayed at Park Royal Suites which is just behind Mr Z's KL office. While Mr Z busy at work, Shafiq and Mommy spent time "galavanting". As it is right smack in the middle of KL, it was so convenient for Mommy and Shafiq to go "window shopping" (did buy some stuff though...haha) at Pavillion and KLCC. Mommy even drove to Midvalley and Gardens. I also took the opportunity to meet up with family and friends, but most important of all, dapatlah I hantar kain to my tailor in SS3, PJ untuk jahit baju Raya I and hantar kain untuk buat baju Melayu for both Mr Z and Shafiq to Mr Z's regular men's tailor in Kajang. Baju Raya tahun ni, settled! :))
The 3rd week, we were back in Singapore as Mr Z had to be in Singapore. So while Mr Z at work, Shafiq and I went to check out the Great Singapore Sale. "Window Shopping" lagi! (wink, wink) Couldn't organize another get together with friends and kids as many are on holiday overseas. So only managed to invite a close friend of Shafiq for a sleepover one of the nights. I could hear them giggling all night and was I in for a surprise when I heard that both of them only went to bed at 5.30am the following morning. Mmmmm...
The last week of the school holidays, we were back in KL again. So throughout the 4 weeks of holidays, 2 weeks were spent in Singapore and 2 weeks were spent in KL. Agak meletihkan jugak, as we drove but then again we always drive back to KL. It takes us about 3 hours from Singapore to reach my inlaws place in Bangi. Kalau fly, kena check in 2 hours before. Then 50 minutes on air. Then from airport to wherever we need to go in KL, will take us another 45 mins to 1 hour. When you take all that into account, driving back to KL seems faster provided you're not stuck in a terrible jam at the Malaysian Immigration checkpoint in Johor.
Got to go now. I help out at Shafiq's school every Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Hope you all with kids managed to spent some quality time with them during the recent holidays. :))
